About the Artist
Destinee Fisher is multidisciplinary artist based out of Decatur, Ga. She received her BFA in Photography from Georgia State University in 2013 and has since worked in a plethora of mediums including textiles, oil pastel, and digital illustration. In 2020, she established Destinee Creates Stuff where she focused on designing digital illustrations for prints, greeting cards, and stickers. This lead to freelance work with Cottonelle, BLK HLTH, and Oxford College of Emory University.
Since 2023, Destinee has been working in acrylic paints, emphasizing a vibrant color palette. Her most current work explores the idea of hands as portraiture. She believes that our hands tell our stories without the need of a facial expression. Flora and fruit are also commonplace in her work, providing a point of interaction for the hands to better invoke a sense of action and emotion. She hopes that the viewers of her work can see the hands and create stories of their own. Her work has been in group exhibitions shown at the Avondale Arts Alliance and Decatur Arts Alliance.
